This series 795 block and tackle sash support system has a balance channel length of 26 inches for a tilt-in sash window. The channel's width measures 9/16" but is considered 1/2" in the trade. This balance comes fully assembled with the top clip and bottom pivot shoe attached.

assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash
weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
Good Idea! Replacing both window balances at the same time prevents extra wear-and-tear to the new balance, which will have to work twice as hard when paired with an old balance.
