I am trying to install a brand new dyad window operator (right). The window opens to the left. After installtion, the window closes but still leaves a 6 inch gap. Does the operator and window have to be in a particular position for installation?

First check to see if the window will close all the way without the use of the operator. If it is the operator causing the gap check to make sure you are using the correct replacement window operator. Another reason that window may not close properly is the placement of the stud bracket.
