Do the screws for changing the cranks come with the operator. What tool is used to screw in/out the pan head screws in the arm extension piece?

Screws do not come with the 39-012 replacement Superior window crank. It is best to use your existing screws from the old operator you are replacing. It depends on your window but replacement screws may be available on SWISCO.com. Take a look at the 33-070 shoulder screw with the corresponding bushing 33-206. You will need a phillips screw driver for installation.

Hi. This looks like the product that I need. But the whole in the arm extension piece on the existing one appears less than 3/8" (I've not yet taken it apart), and it is attached to the window control arm (or whatever it is called) with what appears to be a rivet (maybe that's a "pan-head screw"?). In any case, the existing way it (all 6 of our windows are done the same way) is attached does not use a phillips screw. Maybe you were just explaining that the replacement can be attached differently, with the screw and busing you suggest? Thanks.

There must be a way to remove the operator, perhaps either a shoulder screw or a shoulder rivet attached with an "E" ring. Take another look at the window. It might help to view it from the outside of the window if you can. If not, open the window fully and view it from the inside. Always wear safety glasses to protect your eyes. Also, remove the screen if you have one so you can get a really good look.
