Except for the wheel diameter, are 84-011 and 84-073 otherwise the same size? Specifically, is the distance from the corner angle to the wheel the same?

The 84-011 and the 84-073 screen door corner rollers have different style housings. The 84-011 maximum corner thickness is 11/32" and the 84-073 maximum corner thickness is 13/32". Also note that the 84-073 is made for to replace an Acorn sliding screen door corner roller. Let me know if you need any other specific measurements.

What does the "maximum corner thickness" refer to? What points is it measuring and why is it important?

The maximum corner thickness is the height of the corner if you were to lay the corner down on a flat surface like a table or work bench. The importance is that if the corner is too thick or too thin it will not fit properly in your door.

I'm sorry, but I'm still not getting it. According to your diagram I thought both the 84-011 and the 84-073 were 3/8" thick (which I perceive as the height of the corner when it is laying flat).

I see no response to my last query. Could you clarify the concept of "maximum corner thickness" - perhaps with a picture or diagram?

Sorry for the delay, I wanted to thoroughly go through this issue before answering. I have updated both product pictures for the 84-011 and 84-073 to make it more clear what the maximum corner thickness is. Basically the maximum corner thickness is the thickest part of the corner. The maximum corner thickness is important because the hollow door frame must fit over this dimension. Be sure to refresh your browser on each product page to see the updated images.
