Is this product desinged to replace the insulation around the sides of single/double hung windows by sliding into the grove around the edge?

Yes. Remove a piece of the current weatherstrip and compare it to the detailed profile style and measurements given for the 58-163.

Hi guys, I currently have silver line anderson replacement windows (2yrs old) and I would like to get a better weather stripping material to stop very small air leakage. the material is a very small wool like material, white in color. Can you please help?

I do not know if this will work for your application. The 58-163 weather stripping is mainly used for wood windows with a groove cut out to accept the leg which holds it into the window. Go back to SWISCO's
weather stripping catalog and look at the various weather stripping. Maybe try a wool pile that is thicker than yours as long as the installation base is the same size.
