Just wondering if this can be somehow used around the door edge? or is it only suitable for windows? Also, how do you attach it?

The 58-004 is installed in a pre-existing groove. SWISCO does carry a stick-on wool pile that features an adhesive backing 58-026. I do not know what type of door you are referring to, but take a look at this catalog section of prime door weather stripping.
