Thanks for posting! Just by eyeballing this balance, I think you might have something like our Series 500 spiral balance. That said, I can't be sure without knowing more dimensions. What is the diameter of the balance tube? Is it 5/8" like our Series 500?
If so, these can definitely be tricky to install. Take a look at our tutorial guide on the best way to install these balances. This should give you a good idea of what to do. Since these are wood sashes, you should also check out our 17-012 bracket. |

Actually, 9/16" is perfect. Many thicker spiral balances measure 9/16", but are still considered 5/8" in the trade.
Our 17-012 is, unfortunately, just steel. |

I think you'd be good with a Red Tip. For each size, two balances with a Red Tip can hold a window sash weight of 7 through 29 pounds.
