Stamp option for 16 pound sash

A home owner from Porter Ranch, California says:
I am replacing channel balances that have a stamp that reads 26 4 BN Caldwell. It looks like S390-27 will meet my needs as the shoe is 1 1/8 inch. It seems option 2640 is the right choice but my windows only weigh 16 pounds. Should I be choosing the 2630 instead?

Hello! Your balance's original stamp corresponds to our 2640, yes, but it's always better to go with the sash weight itself. In your case, the 2630 is your best bet. Did you ever find that your windows were harder to close in the past?

Yes they have always been a bit difficult to close and latch. Thanks!
