Item# 40-034K does not fit my storm door. My storm door is 1 3/4 thick and this item is not fitting. Spindle seems a little long ? Can you recommend another similar item ?

The spindle of the 40-034K does come a little long. This is so customers can cut it down to the needed length. Check out the video below, this should help you determine how to install it.
