90-005 with 1/4" deep throw?

A home owner from Sun City West says:
I AM LOOKING TO REPLACE SOME BROKEN WINDOW LOCKS, MASTERVIEW, BLACK, ABOUT 15-20 YRS OLD. YOUR DESCRIPTION OF PART #90-005 MATCHES WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT THE THROW PART FITS INTO THE WINDOW CHANNEL ABOUT 1/4 INCH. IN ANOTHER DISCUSSION AN EMPLOYEE INDICATED THAT THE THROW OR LOCKING TAB PORTION WAS ABOUT 3/8 INCH WIDE WHEN IN LOCK POSITION. IS THE 3/8 INCH AN EXACT MEASUREMENT. MY WINDOW CHANNELS ARE ONLY 1/4 INCH DEEP. MAYBE THE LOCKING TAB COULD BE FILED DOWN TO FIT, WITHOUT PUSHING THE OTHER HALF OUT WHEN LOCKED?

Our black 90-005 lock has a throw of 3/8", but you can file or grind down the tongue to 1/4" with no problem. The height of the tongue is 1/8".
