Adding a lock cylinder to a double mortise sliding glass patio door

A handy person from Highland, New York says:
I have a double mortise sliding glass patio door that came without a lock cylinder. I would like to add a lock cylinder to the existing handle.

After doing a bit of research on your web site I think that your 82-310 lock cylinder might be the part I need.

I have not yet taken the existing handle apart to examine the inner workings but there is a round area visible on the outer handle that looks like it could be a knockout for a lock cylinder.

I've attached a few photos of the lock handle. Can you tell if a lock cylinder can be added to it?

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for posting! Yes, it looks like your handle is able to accept a key cylinder. Do you see that circular indentation on the outside handle? You should be able to punch that out. If not, then you could also try to very carefully drill out the hole.
