Backing plate on 26-387 thin enough?

A home owner from Alsea, OR says:
I have this house that was started in 1999 then abandoned after the shell was complete. The frame of the window wraps around the sash. As you can see there is not much clearance between the back of the frame and the sash. Is the backing plate on the screw post sufficiently thin that the sash can ride over it? Will this product work on my windows?
thanks

I understand your concern. In fact, I actually had the same situation in a window at my house. After I installed the 26-387 I did feel a little friction in operation the window, but works for me to this day without any trouble.
