I'm ready to replace channel balance on 10 of my windows that were originally installed 25 years ago when house was built. The stamp on the balance is "2830" so according to your chart I should get
Series 390 29" channel balance option 2830. We have constantly struggled to open and close the windows and now I'm wondering if the builder used the wrong option (I saw earlier that the option refers to weight of the sash). Do I literally have to weigh each window to see if it fits into the range of 16-23 pounds for option 2830, or can I assume that my current problem with opening windows is due to a heavier option selected by the builder (2830) and maybe instead I should have selected option =2820 to make these windows easier to open?
