Balance Stamp Option

A home owner from Fayetteville, Ga. says:
My 28" balance is stamped 27-C. Does that correspond to 2730 as in ABC vs 2710, 2720, 2730?

If this doesn't help should I take a sash out and weigh it?

thanks for your help,
steve

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Yep, that's correct. Ordinarily, A = 1, B = 2, etc. In your case, 2730 should work for your 27C stamp. That said, if you just want to be 100% sure, you can always weigh your sash on a scale.
