Balance, numbers appear to be: J75R23976 for an Andersen double hung sash.

A home owner from Jacksonville, IL says:
One of the sash cords broke and I would like to fix it. My balances do not look like any of the ones posted on the your website. I know the window I more than 30 years old. The stamped numbers are very hard to make out so I have given you my best guess. The broken cord is on the left lower sash.

Thanks for posting. Based on your stamp of "5 23," I recommend our 24-531 Andersen sash balance.
A home owner from Jacksonville, Illinois says:
This 531 will not work. I need to return the two balances I ordered at your suggestion. Your return policy indicates I need to "request a return" from my account page but I do not have an account. Should I just mail the balances back or do I need to get a special number?

I'm sorry to hear the balance did not work. You can just return it if you wish, but before you do, can you specify what went wrong? One common reason why these balances are difficult to install at first is because of the tab. Andersen no longer makes these balances without them, so if that is the problem then you will likely not find an older version. You can still get the tabbed version to work, but you would need to dremel out a little space for it. If there was another reason why these wouldn't install, please let me know.
