Broken top sash guide

A handy person from Irvine, CA says:
1/2" Channel balance ID is 30 4 JR Caldwell
Top sash guide is broken. No ID. See photo for dimensions.
Channel balance is 30" long. Double pane window weighs 22.2 lbs

Holes for top sash guide are not in same location! Correct hole location seems to 1 7/16" from top of window frame. Hole for top sash guide that broke is 1 9/16" which put load entirely on plastic top sash guide. Holes in the top sash guide are ⅝" and 1-⅛" from top of guide.

I will drill new hole/s and/or replace entire mechanism if necessary...although strings, springs & clips all appear to be like new.

Second email with photos of channel guide to follow.

Which top sash guide should I order?

Thanks for your question. We recommend our 18-171 a replacement for your sash guide. It looks like you have an older style that is not made anymore, but the 18-171 should still work. The only catch is this: you will need to cut the piece at the top so that it will fit in your window. Compare the 18-171 to your part, and let us know if you need anything else.
