SWISCO - The Replacement Hardware Authority

A handy person from California says:
Hi There:

My husband called you last week and tried to explain the issue that we have with our Certainteed windows. These windows are from 1996/1997 when our home was remodeled, it was before I owned the house so I have no model numbers or other information. They are 3x5 up and down sliders (vertical sliders). When we open the window it 1, won't stay in a raised position and 2, the window falls out of the frame.

Can you please help me with the correct replacement parts for these? Thanks in advance!!!

Thank you for posting. If your window can't stay up, then you likely have to replace your balance system. Now, it looks like you might have a shoe similar to our 15-192. Is that correct? Make sure to compare the two carefully. If you agree, then you're looking at either our Series 170 or Series 171 coil balance. You'll have to remove your coil balances and take a close look at them to determine which.

It also looks like you're missing your pivot bars. Check out our 26-175 and see if you could get these to work.
