Caradco window crank will not close

A quick learner from USa says:
My casement Window Crank needs repair
- SYMPTOM: It will NOT crank closed the last 1 inch to close, also will NOT engage to open the first inch

I have attached a photo, the upper left corner of the Casement Window is stamped with Caradco 12/83

User submitted a photo of a window operator.

Hmm... I'm thinking it could be a defect in your track. Try this: remove your operator from the window and then open and close the window manually. If it operates freely then it's the operator causing problems. If it still binds, check the track and hinge for any kind of obstruction. Maybe even a screw that is sticking out too far.
A quick learner from Murphy NC - USA says:
The window does NOT bind, I can pull the window shut and have to push it open for the 1st inch of travel. Then the gears engage.

I am trying to find a replacement operator.

Thank you! If the operator is the problem, then see our 39-014 and 39-013 and see if these match your hardware.
