Cardinal Window constant force coil balance dual

A home owner from Glen Carbon Illinois says:
In the attached image is what my coil balance looks like. That is the right side. Left side cover was completely deteriorated and when I went to unlock the shoe the springs sprung. Also there isn't a cutout in the frame to remove the coil balance. Any suggestions? Window is double pane and 33 inches wide by 29 inches tall.

Good morning. One of the easiest ways to identify what coil spring you need is to first identify the shoe. Yours appears similar to our 15-191. If you agree, see our Series 160 spring and 15-150T support. Could this hardware work for you? If the Series 160 spring doesn't match, please take a few pictures of it for us to see and we can try to find something better.

As for removing the shoe, see our video on what you can do without a cut out.
A home owner from Glen Carbon Illinois says:
Thanks for the reply and the video. Good information. The 15-191 shoe does look like it would work. Just a follow up. You suggested individual pieces. Do you have a preassembled unit that would work? And if you don't do I need three 3.5LB springs for each side using the Series 160 spring?

We don't have pre-assembled balance systems for this type of balance, no. As for the spring weight, the best way to determine what you need is to check what numbers are printed on your original spring.
