Casement replacement parts

A home owner from Colorado springs says:
I have 30 year old casement windows and have replaced all the operators with new truth hardware from you all. Now 9 months later the cranks are slipping again and the circular screw that engages the crank is backing out of the window. Will a new crank help that?

Paul from SWISCO responded:
Do you mean the gear bore that the handle slips over? If that is coming out, then the gears are stripped and you will need to replace the operators, yes.

There are a couple reasons this could be happening. To narrow it down, first disconnect your operators from the window and try to open and close it manually. If you notice any binding or resistance, then that means something is interfering with the window and causing the operators to wear out early. Alternatively, sometimes happens when the operators are closed too tightly or forced too many turns when opening.
