Casement windeow removal

A home owner from E Lansing, Mi says:
I have a 9 1/2 single arm casement window with a screw in the left side. How do I get the cover off after removing the screw and loosing the paint? The house was built in 1953. Thank you!

Tom from SWISCO responded:
It depends on what kind of operator you have. I see you were looking at our 39-412. Is that what you have? If so, then that kind of cover cannot be removed. If you'd like, take a picture of the cover in question and upload those pictures here for us to see. From there we can recommend what to do next.
