SWISCO - The Replacement Hardware Authority

Casement window operator

A home owner from Baldwinsville New York says:
You can see the open space to the outdoors in this casement operator. The left screw appears to be stripped. Will I need to buy a whole new operator, or just put toothpicks in the screw hole to tighten it? The window was working fine before this.

I have two other broken operators which need to be replaced, and I will order them as soon as I can get pictures to send for identification.

User submitted a photo of a window operator.

Thanks for contacting us. Can you specify which hole is stripped? Is it in the operator itself or the sill? You may be able to rig something up in the short term. If it works, it works. If it's the operator that's damaged, though, then it may be time for a new one, anyway.
