Confirming if I have S380-29

A professional from Orland Park, IL says:
Hello,

I am looking to purchase some channel balances for one of our schools. From what I can gather online, I believe this part I need is a 29" Series 380 Channel Balance, Option 2840 with 15-005 & 19-005 clips.

The number on the balance I have is 28DS 40.

I have attached a picture for your review.

Please help if you can!

Thank you!
Katie

I'm afraid I cannot confirm whether the Series 380 channel balance is a match. I can't make out the finer details of your nylon attachments. It looks like your top attachment doesn't have wings, which discounts the 19-005. It could be our 19-002 instead. I cannot see the shoe at all so I'm not sure if the 15-005 is a match.

As for the stamp, I don't think it corresponds to our 2840. Can you weigh your sash on a scale and tell me what you get? That will allow us to recommend the proper stamp option.

Thank you for the response. I will get it weighed. In the meantime, I took some better pictures which my be assist you. The Code on the bar reads "28DS 40"

Thank you! From these additional photos, your bottom balance shoe looks like it could be our 15-001 (1-1/8" depth), which indicates our Series 390 channel balance as a replacement. See if your shoe size is the same. I will wait for your window sash weight.
A quick learner says:
Thank you!

The balance weighs 8.5 ounces.

Thanks, but I think you might be a little crossed up. We do not need the weight of the balance, but rather the window sash. This is the glass panel that you raise and lower. The job of your balances is to support the sash, which is why knowing how much it weighs is important while determining how strong your balances ought to be. Let me know once you can get that for us.
