Channel Balance 2590

A quick learner from Woodland Hills, CA says:
I have an old channel balance 26" 9/12" marked 2590 22 that I want to repalce. When I search your database it returns 350 (S350-26) and/or 351 (S351-26) series part. The part looks the same. I do not know the weight of the sash but assume it is 22 lbs. I will verify before I order by weighing the sash.

My question is, will the S350-26 or S351-26 option 2540 suit my needs?

Thanks for posting. I don't believe you have either our Series 350 or our Series 351 channel balances, since your attachments both have wings. It more closely matches our Series 380 or Series 385 balances.

Keep in mind that the stamp marked on your balance is not a serial code, or any kind of identification number. It is merely indicative of your balance's weight capacity. Unfortunately, your stamp of 2590 does not match any stamp options we can put on our balances. We will have to know the weight of your sash to proceed.

As for what Series you have, I just need to know a bit more information about the bottom attachment. Please take a look at our 15-004 and 15-005 channel balance shoes, and note their depths. As you can see, they are 1-3/32" deep and 1" deep, respectively. Which one more closely matches your own bottom attachment?
A quick learner says:
I think the shoes are 15-005 and 19-005 based on the S380-26 page images and my measurements. I still need to weigh the sash. Am I correct in stating that if the sash is 22 lbs, then the stamp option would be 2540?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Yes, the 2540 option can support a window sash weight range of 19 through 25 pounds.

Please keep in mind that the weight range information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
