Channel Balance Replacement

A quick learner from Davie Florida says:
Hi,
I need to replace the channel balances in two windows of the same size. They both have cords tangled and jammed. I watched your video showing how to pop the take out clips which solved the mystery of taking out the sash. My question is that I have a missing take out clip and need to know the if I can get a replacement. The clips are on 1" centers and the width is about 1/4".
I want to take it apart to identify the balance but will I get in trouble with only one clip?

Sure, I think we can help. The 16-002 is a common take out clip. Could this be what you need? You could also install a screw temporarily. This will work the same way as the take out clip, and while it is of course a less elegant solution it can work in the short term.
