Channel balance

A quick learner from Portland, Oregon says:
Hello,
I need new channel balances for one window. The stamp on the broken one is B6-26-4 IB5 CMC 45 and on another similar window is 26-4 Caldwell HM.

The window is a vinyl Alpine, single hung, Thermopane, nominal dimensions 4' X 5'.

By your website I think I need a 27" Series 385 2670 Channel Balance.

Does this sound correct?

Thanks,
Greg

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Hi, Greg. You can usually replace balances marked "26-4" with a 27" balance and a 2640 stamp option. You can check either of those numbers by (respectively) measuring the metal channel, or weighing the window sash. However, you also need to know your channel balance Series. We have an ID guide for that, but you can also send us photos of the two ends of your balance. If we see photos, we can make the identification for you.
