Crossbow balance interchangeable?

A home owner from North Carolina says:
I just bought a home and all of the balance springs, tilt rods, and tilt latches are garbage. All are broken so I am looking to revamp all 20+ windows in the home with new hardware. The old springs are the crossbow style, and they just seem to be kind of cheesy with the cord in there. Is it possible to change out to a different style balance? I am sure your 850 series are much better than what is in there, but it just seems like a different style would be more heavy duty/longer lasting.

Either way I am sure I will be placing a large order with you guys soon.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm... in the past, I've replaced the Series 850 with our Series 795 channel balance. This may work for you, but you would also need to replace the tilt bar with our 26-021. What do you think?

A home owner from North Carolina says:
Are the 795s a better product, in your opinion? If so I may order a few and try it out. If not, I'll prob just order the 850s.

In my experience, they both work equally well. We usually recommend sticking with the hardware that was installed in the window originally, so that you don't run into any unforeseen complications. At the end of the day it just comes down to personal preference.
