Explain Option on Channel Balance

Casey from SWISCO responded:
The stamp options represent different balance strengths. It is best to match up to the original stamp when possible. If you cannot locate a stamp on the balance you are trying to replace, remove the window sash and place it on a scale.

18" Series 751
Stamp option 17R will carry a window sash weight range of 10 through 17 pounds.
17HD will carry 17 through 22 pounds.
17TG (same as 17XH) will carry a window sash weight range of 22 through 24 pounds.

This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
If you are unsure of the balance series you selected, please send us detailed photos for us to research.
