Glazing bead help

A quick learner from USA says:
I am replacing the snap-in glazing on my windows, but I can't find an exact match. At what point is "close" really "close enough?"
I thought my piece looked a lot like your 55-199, except:
the overall length of mine is 7/8"(yours is 1");
the height of the vertical post is 1/8" (yours is 1/4");
the width of the flat part is 5/8" (yours is 11/16").

Do these variations make a difference?

You're right about the size difference, but I think the 55-199 could still work for your sash. You aren't going to be able to mix the new snap-in with the old on the same sash. I suggest replacing one sash with the new and keeping the old for other sashes as an emergency backup.
