Going to keyed door handle set

A quick learner from USA says:
I'd like my sliding door handle to be keyed on the outside. What do I need?
From what my guy measured, between the two screws on the door handle measures 4" and 6" for the locking mechanism that goes inside the door.

Do you only need a key for this handle set? If so, look at our 82-306. As long as the measurements match you should be able to use this to replace your old exterior handle.
A professional from California says:
I could be wrong, because from the angle of the picture I can't tell exactly, but you may be better off getting a 82-310 and drilling out the hole in your handle for the cylinder. It looks like your outside handle already lines up with the lever position. 82-306 does not have the screw posts to line up as yours does. I would take off the outside handle and make sure. Look at the screw holes on the page for 82-306 to see if they line up.
