Help Identifying Channel Balance for 2 different windows in my home.

A home owner from Dublin Ca says:

Hello,

I am trying to repair two windows in my home. One is big, and one is small. I would like to order 2 channel balances for each window (4 parts in total). I think the windows are Mercer Windows. I tried comparing the end parts to the pictures online, but was not confident in my ability to determine the best match - I am delighted you offer the ability to upload photos!

Attached are two photos, each contain a number of photos the measurements and markings from the existing channel balances.

Both the large and small window channel balances have the same plastic endpoints, it is just the length of them and the spring that seem to vary.

Below are all the details I can find:

---------------------------------------------
Channel Balance for the Big window

The metal part is .5 Inches wide

Just the metal part measures 33" in length.

Including plastic end parts measures 34" in lenght

Has Markings: 86 32-4 KA5 CMC 1

The sticker inside the window has this listed as the series:
6210/6230/6230J/6270

And also these numbers:
H-LC30-48X70
H-R20*-108X70

The sash (part of the window that slides up and down) is 34" wide by 35" tall

-----------------------------------

Channel Balance for the Small Window

The metal part is .5 Inches wide

Just the metal part measures 21" in length.

Including plastic end parts measures 22" in length.

Has Markings: 86 20-2 HA5 CMC 1

The sticker inside the window has this listed as the series:
6210/6230/6230J/6270

And also these numbers:
H-LC30-48X70
H-R20*-108X70

The sash (part of the window that slides up and down) is 22" wide by 23" tall

Many thanks in advance,

Hey, Scot, thanks for posting, and for the details! I've narrowed this down to two possible channel balance Series: either our Series 380 or our Series 385 balances.

Now, as you can see, there is only one difference between these two Series, and that is their bottom shoe. The Series 380 uses the 15-005 while the Series 385 uses the 15-004. I can't quite tell what you have based on your pictures, though. Please carefully compare their dimensions to your own hardware and see which is a better match.

Hi Tom.

Thanks for the help! I am amazed at how you narrowed it down.

It is the 15-005 (just measured it).

With this piece of the puzzle down, looking forward to the final answer :-)

Thanks,

Scot

If you have the 15-005, then I think our Series 380 would be the better choice. For your specific balances, you should check out our S380-33 with a 3240 option and our S380-21 with a 2020 option. Just double check this information to make sure it's correct.
