How do the tear strips/flap width work?

A quick learner from Monroeville, PA says:
The description of 59-057 states: "The 1-3/4 inch wide flap has tear strips so you can choose a flap width."

How does that work? What are the widths that are available using the tear strips?

I am in need of a bug strip that generally meets these dimensions except the width is 1-1/8"

If you look closely at the product image for the 59-057 Bug Flap, you will notice tear strips on the flange. Use a utility knife on one end to start the cut so you can tear it off in order to reduce the flange.

As you know from the original product image, the height of the 59-057 is 1 3/4".

There are three (3) 5/32" tear strips, and one (1) 7/16" tear strip.
