Is your window is made of wood? If it is, then you might be able to remove the side wood trim which covers the locking mechanism on the window. When the trim is removed you should be able to access the lock and open the window. Just be sure the side trim can be removed; you don't want to damage the window. You might also be able to use a flat blade screw drive or needle nose pliers to unlock the window. There is no exact science to this, unfortunately.
