How to replace broken latch

A home owner from Anchorage, AK says:
I think these are the levers we have on our windows. There are 2 broken ones that I'd like to replace, but I can't figure out how to remove the broken ones. I'm attaching 2 pictures. One is a functioning window with the lever open. The second is one of the broken levers. As you can see it seems to have pulled away from the window frame and no longer sits flush. I assume this is why it won't open. Do you have instructions for the installing these so I can maybe use it to get the broken ones out to be replaced? Thanks.

Take a look at the video below on how to replace a casement operator. The window and operator are different than what you have, but it shows the best method of removing a wood trim, which I think you'll find very helpful. As for the operator itself, see our 36-069.
