Is this equivilent to the 40-049?

A handy person from St. Charles, Mo. says:
Older steel door and lock, late 70's/early 80's. On the outside plate on top is the word "PADO" and on the bottom is "LATAO". To me, it looks similar to the 40-049, and this is the only site I seen that has these similar locksets. The newer mortise locksets have wider plates that simply will not fit because of the window frames. Screw to screw on the handle plates is 6 11/16" and screw to screw on the outside plate 6 15/16".

The 40-049 does look similar, but it really comes down to the dimensions. There are a lot of important measurements to consider for the 40-049. I recommend carefully going over each one to confirm they match. Let us know if any differ.
