Lower element of the upper sash

A quick learner from Washington DC says:
Hi!

I accidentally bent the lower element of the upper sash. This is a double hang window (see the photo). I don't even know the name of this piece but I'd like to replace it.

Hello! Looking at your picture, I think you might have an MI window. If so, remove the bottom and top sash, then lay the top sash down on a table. Once it's stable, you can use a piece of wood and hammer to lightly tap the glazing strip back in the window frame. Work it in from either side, and across the middle bulge. Be very careful not to break the glass. You shouldn't need more than just gentle taps.
