Need a Balance Spring Replacement part for AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S. 2-97 series 5220/5230/5270

A home owner from Fremont, California says:

Hi,

The string to the balance spring on the left side of my window broke and I wanted to by the replacement part (the whole balance spring). Enclosed are the images of the balance spring along with the label attached to the window frame.I also need to purchase the take-out cliff to go along with the balance spring on the left since it is broken. Please indicate the part number for the take-out cliff that I need to order, for both take-out clip and balance spring. The length of the balance spring (from the top of the metal bar to the other end) is 30". The width of this balance spring is 1/2".

 Thanks,Vi

Hey, thanks for posting. I've narrowed this down to two possible channel balance Series: either our Series 380 or our Series 385.

Now, as you can see, the only difference between these two Series is their bottom shoe. The Series 380 uses the 15-005 while the Series 385 uses the 15-004. I can't quite tell what you have based on your pictures, though. Please carefully compare their dimensions to your own hardware and see which is a better match.

As for the take out clip, take a look at our 16-002. I believe this is what you need.

The window will not stay up. Attached is a picture of the make and model. Can you tell me what part number I need to order? Thank you for your time.

Perhaps I can be of assistance. Most Kinco windows in Florida use the Series 380 side load balance with a bottom winged shoe that is 1" in depth. However, we'd like you to remove an undamaged balance with the end fittings intact to compare to our inventory. We'll also need to know the stamp on your metal channel, along with the length. We shall do our best to help you from there.
