Older windows are very loud

A quick learner from Brandon, FL. says:
We have 10 single hung alum windows with 3/8" tubular spiral balances. The window locks say Jacobson on the window latch. The house was built in 2003 for a couple in their 70's at the time. So I'm guessing the windows are not worn out, as even I find them tough to open. All are loud and almost always make a spring releasing sound while being raised. I would like to lubricate them. However I was surprised to find no videos online specifically to address this. There were a few that addressed double hung and tilt-out, which mine are not. Can you help ? Thank you.

Lubricating your 3/8" spiral balances might not solve the problem. Since they are fairly old in balance-terms, you might need new replacement balances entirely. See our Series 400 spiral balance, I think this might be what you have. If you want to lubricate the spirals, you will need our charging tool, the 75-005. I like to use lithium grease.
