The 39-007 cannot replace my old operator

A home owner from South Plainfield, NJ says:
Upon receiving the awning 39-007 window operator that I ordered, we
discovered that it is not a suitable replacement for the damaged operator
that is currently on the window at my mother's house. The attached photo
compares the 39-007 operator (shown at the top) to the operator that needs
to be replaced (shown at the bottom). Note the differences in the position
where the "shoulder" of the arm attaches to the operator unit, the length of
the "lower arm" and the absence of a pin (intended to accept an e-ring) at
the end of the lower arm. Please let me know if you can recommend another
product to replace the operator shown at the bottom of the photo.

Also, please let me know how to proceed to return the 39-007 operator for a

Hey, David. I believe you have the older version of the 39-007, which had a rivet that took an e-ring. From what I remember, I had to use the 33-070 shoulder screw and 33-206 nylon washer when replacing the old operator with the 39-007. That was the only difference. See what you think.
