Pivot shoe identification

A quick learner from USA says:
The window I am working on is a Champion manufactured window. The window weighs 40 pounds. Currently the window has a red tip spiral counter balance. From your information it appears I need black tip counterbalance because of the weigh of the window. The current red tip counterbalance is 5/8 in diameter. The current counter balance has double pins. Are the double pins available in the black tip counter balance? The track is 1/2 - 17/32 inches.
I will be replacing both c ounterbalances on the lower window. Do you recommend cutting out the section as shown in your video or using the jam spreaders? I looked at both methods on your videos and was unsure which was best.
I have attached pictures of the damaged old pick it shoe. The old pivot shoes are 2" in height and 1/2" deep as best I could measure.
I know I need the Spiral Balance Tool. Pleas advice me as to the other parts\ tools I will need.

Sure, I'm happy to help. Your pivot shoe is no longer made, but the manufacturer suggests using our 15-118 as a substitute. I would just confirm that the dimensions are the same.

As for whether to use spreaders or cut, ultimately it comes down to whatever you prefer. Both methods work well.
