Replacement Sash Hardware

A home owner from Portland Or says:
I need assistance selecting the correct replacement sash spring. The existing metal channel is 33" long. Sash weight is 23#. See attached photos

Hey, thanks for posting. I've narrowed this down to two possible channel balance Series: either our Series 380 or our Series 385.

Now, as you can see, the only difference between these two Series is their bottom shoe. The Series 380 uses the 15-005 while the Series 385 uses the 15-004. I can't quite tell what you have based on your pictures, though. Please carefully compare their dimensions to your own hardware and see which is a better match.

Thanks for the info. I can measure and select. The sash weight is #23. I can go with a either a 3230 or 3240 for this weight. What is you recommendation?

If you sash is exactly 23 pounds without leaning to either side, then I guess you could go with either. Since your old balance used a spring weight that corresponds with our 3230 option, though, it may be best to stick with that.
