S180 coil balance

A quick learner from Lafayette Indiana says:
I have some 3050 vinyl windows with double pane insulated glass. They have S180 style coils and what looks like your coil housing pivot part number 15-087. These are single hung windows and were built in 1995. I do not know the manufacter. I may have to cut part of the track out to remove the coil housing. I don't think your track spreaders will work because the windows have wood returns. My question is can you advise me which pound coil I need or is it nessecary for me to remove a spring to get a number from it? Thanks.

Thanks for posting! Yes, you will need to match up the number on your spring to those available for the Series 180 coil.

Also would it be smart to replace the coil housings or use the existing housings?

Thank you! Based on that stamp, I'd recommend our S180-7. Regarding the 15-087, if the housing isn't broken and if the center cam that accepts the pivot bar isn't damaged, you should be able to reuse it.
