Sash Balance Specs

A contractor from Woodland Hills, Ca says:
Hi,
My window currently has two bad balances. They are 5/8" with the red tip at 13" length. The window weighs 16lbs. Is the red rated for that much weight?

Best,
John

Paul from SWISCO responded:
Hey, John. Are these tilt windows? If so, then our S600-13 would be the best choice. As you can see on the weight rating chart on the S600-13 store page, a Red Tip color option can carry a sash weight of 6 through 18 pounds. The Blue Tip can also carry 10 through 26 pounds. Either of these should work. If you want to err on the side of caution, just choose the same tip color option that you have now.
