Screen Frame Wire Tension Springs

A quick learner from Columbus, Ohio says:
I need only 4 of the tension springs for two very old window screens that need to be rebuilt. Can I buy just four of these springs??? Also, do you have any instructions/tips for installing them in terms of how to cut the hole and how big the hole should be? Thank you!

Paul from SWISCO responded:
If I may, I actually have an easier solution. You could check out our 70-030 screen corner springs instead. No need to cut any hole for these springs, you can just slide in the corner of the screen.
A quick learner says:
Tried those and they won't work!!! So we are trying to find the original type hardware which is the tension springs which need the hole in the frame. We could probably actually use the old springs but I think they got thrown out when the bent up frame was discarded. We have a new frame and new screen but the corner tension springs just won't work correctly in the setup designed to hold these screens. Thanks just the same for the idea though!

Ah, I see. In that case, you can use a utility knife to cut out a small slot just enough for the 70-005 to fit. If you are in the business of making screens, though, you will need to have a tool and die company make the punch for you, as that will be a lot easier to handle on a larger scale.
A quick learner says:
Thank you! We weren't sure how easy it would be to punch a hole in the frame or if we would need a special tool to do that. Thank you!!!!
