Screen thickness for use with 59-250 spline

A quick learner from USA says:
Dear Sir or Madame:

I am re-screening a number of the Andersen window screens in our house. I saw in the description of the spline Product Code: 59-250 (250-Foam-Screen-Spline/pd/Spline/59-250) that it is the size often used to replace Andersen metal spline strips. The question I have pertains to the type of screen material I am using, which is the heavier Sun Guard Charcoal by New York Wire. I have used this Sun Guard in many houses but never in Andersen Windows screens. Since the screening fabric is heavier, would this still be a good size?

The sell sheet for the screen product recommends a .140 spline for a standard screen frame, however Andersen's channels are much larger.

Thank you

One of our employees here actually redid their screen last year using "Solar" screen cloth. They used the 59-250 foam spline and it is currently still working quite well. Take note that our 59-250 spline is used used for the Andersen 1" wide screen frame, which was made before 1991. If your screens were made after 1991 you might need to use the thicker 59-270 spline.
