Series 306 Spiral Balance

A home owner from Florida says:
I believe I have 306. It goes in a non-tilt window. It is 3/8" diameter and 18" long. The color tip appears to be clear. Grease is under it and it looks darker than it is. The condo/villa was built in 1988. It's a small window, maybe 10 lbs.

What color should I use?

If the sash is 10 pounds, I would recommend the Red Tip. However, I highly recommend weighing the sash on a scale so that you know the exact weight.
A home owner from Tarpon Springs says:
Thanks for the response. When you say the sash, I assume you mean the window and frame. The window and frame weight 6.5 lbs.

Do you still recommend red and is it a 306?

Tom from SWISCO responded:
Yes, the sash is the glass panel that the balances support. It's what you slide up and down when you open and close the window.

If your sash is 6.5 pounds, I would still recommend the Red Tip. Two of these balances with Red Tip color options can carry a sash weight of 6 through 16 pounds.
