Substitute for block and tackle balance.

A quick learner says:
I have a block and tackle balance like your S850-28.5 with a black 1-1/4" shoe.

I have a lot of windows in which to replace these. I am wondering if there is a different type balance that I can substitute. The price of replacing these in a double hung window is approaching the price of a new window. Do you have any suggestions?

We usually recommend sticking with what you have now, but if you wanted a new type of balance you may be able to get our S795-28 to work. I would also recommend the 28D option for sashes weighing 23 through 28 pounds. Check your sash weight just to be sure this is right. You would also need to change your pivot bar to our 26-021.
