You have an older version of a Roto awning operator that takes the 39-226 "male" handle. They actually don't make this operator anymore, but we have a couple solutions.

First, you could try drilling a small hole into the broken stud in the operator, installing a screw, and then pulling the broken piece out by the screw head. You could also just replace the complete operator with the newer style 39-393 and 39-114L "female" handle. This might be easier, in the long run.
