Thermal Gard window balance

A quick learner from New Jersey says:
Some of our tilt windows will not stay open. Please help me find the correct balances for them. What is easiest way to remove the balance?

Thank you for posting. It looks like you have a 15-087 coil housing pivot. Does that look good to you? If so, then you should also check out our Series 180 coil spring. That might be the spring in your window. Also be sure to consider our 15-086 and 16-024.

Need help to determine the correct replacement parts to order for my window. The larger coil spring has 5 14W stamped on it.

Ah, seeing the pivot shoe is a great help. Check out our 15-202 and see if you think this could be a better fit. For the spring, then you could possibly use the 5 pound variation, based on your stamp. Each of these springs can carry 5 pounds each (For example, if your windows weighed 20 pounds, you would use four 5 pound springs). What is the weight of your sash?
A quick learner from New Jersey says:
The sash weighs 16.8lbs

In that case, you might want to go with our S180-4. Each of these coils can carry 4 pounds each.
