Tilt Window Channel Balance

A handy person from Great state of Texas! says:
Hi, one of my tilt window channel balances broke apart. I think I need to order one of your 795s but I wanted to confirm first. Channel measures 27inches from one end of the metal U channel to the other, not counting the plastic stuff sticking out. Sorry, but I have no idea what brand the windows are, even though they are only 5 1/2 years old.

I figure that if one of these broke already, another will break soon so I'll probably order 2 to save on shipping.

Welcome to SWISCO. The description you gave fits a whole slough of our channel balances, unfortunately. 27" sounds right for the length, but we will also need to see the plastic ends of the balance in order to identify the Series. Beyond that, there should be a printed stamp on the metal channel. That stamp will tell us how strong the spring must be in order to hold a window the same size as yours. Can you send photos and look for a stamp?
A handy person from Texas says:
I tried to send pics with my first message, but they must have not gone through. I will try to attach more. Stamp says "26 7 BSI". after the BSI there is something stamped but it is a bit unclear, it looks like "E9" but it might be "E0". the ends look ALMOST exactly like those pictured in that of the 795 at cl/Series-795-Channel-Balances
A handy person from Texas says:
I hope this works, I tried to reply twice now and it didn't go through. The engraving on the Channel Balance says "26 7 BSI" then is says either E0 or E9, most likely E0.

Thank you! I agree, our Series 795 balance looks like the best match. The biggest issue here is the stamp: yours is exceptionally strong, and may need to be custom made.

I think the equivalent would be the special 26F stamp option for a 26" long balance. This can support sashes weighing 30 through 34 pounds. Would that work for you? If you can confirm your exact sash weight, that would cinch it. Once I know that, I can email you a custom balance order link and price quote for 2.
A handy person from Texas says:
I took the window out and weighed it. It's exactly 25 pounds.

Oh, great, that makes things a lot easier. That would be a standard 26D option for our S795-26. see what you think.
